Story behind Anti Toxic Club

Mo is originally from a saffron farmer family. Mo has taken this photo from a saffron flower in an early November morning in Mo’s home town.
Hey, This is Mo, the guy who founded Anti Toxic Club, which is an initiative from oostaMo (our legal entity). How come I started this club? I see roots in the photo above which is taken by me, it’s a saffron flower around my hometown. I am from a saffron farmer family back in Iran. I have worked a lot with farmers and I don’t know why but I also love nature. oostaMo is something for me to respect nature, work with farmers and live my values!
And I have friends as my teammates, that we play hard and have fun and go with the flow 🙂
You know what? We love to connect and interact with you! Tell a story and hear how we can play together to make our lives something that we deserve!
Big picture:
What we do is based on our own values! We are our own customer 🙂 We invite anybody with similar values and concerns to join us. This community is our source of inspiration of insight about the direction we have to go in Anti Toxic Club. Then we have Direct-Sourcing Mechanism from small family farmers who take small steps toward sustainability (inspired from one our projects with United Nation Development Program) and recently Dutch regenerative farmers. We source our botanicals directly from those who we know via our short and transparent supply chain. Then we have production partners that take the responsibility of blending and packaging. And then through our distribution channels we deliver our value to those who share similar social, environmental and health concerns.
Below you can have a big picture of how our system works:

You know, I, Mo, the founder who I am writing these lines, I love stories. So please let me tell you how I ended up starting Anti Toxic Club.
The journey that led me to here, starts around 100 years ago with my grandfather, a hardworking saffron farmer without any land in Iran. He had 10 children, including my father, who was the eldest son. My grandfather decided not to send them to school to work next to him, but my grandmother managed to change that, and my father became a doctor.

Josef, Mo’s grandpa, a farmer.

The little Mo in the hugs of his parents!
This is how I got a good education. Relying on the safety net of my family, I had the chance to be raised as a risk-taker who follows his dreams wholeheartedly without fear of falling into nothingness.
As my student company, I was the first to bring internet connectivity to my small hometown. But I went bankrupt, and my dad sold a piece of land to cover my debts. Aah, dads!

Mo, cooking vegan food in his vegan restaurant. Read more about it in this article in Le Monde (in French).
I’ve done a lot; I am proud of starting the first vegan restaurant in the second-largest city of my country.
I created the first-of-its-kind city farm to connect children in big cities back to nature.

Kavikonj, nature school, to connect children in big cities back to nature!

Mo in head office of Keshmoon, the farmer storytelling and direct sales platform, back in his home country.
I founded Keshmoon, a platform that was like a mix of Facebook and Amazon for saffron farmers like my family, helping them to tell their stories and sell their products directly to end consumers. It became such a hit; when I sold my shares I was running a team of 40 and we had achieved and failed a lot.
Next, I worked with the United Nations on farmer digital empowerment projects in a few projects.
